A Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect low-voltage electrical circuits from damage caused by excess current, overloads, or short circuits.
The "P" stands for the number of poles. A 1P breaker switches a single live wire, a 2P breaker protects both live and neutral lines (ideal for single-phase circuits), while a 4P breaker is designed for three-phase four-wire systems requiring complete isolation including the neutral wire.
A 4P MCB is typically used in commercial or industrial applications with three-phase supplies where dual power switching, neutral isolation, or protection against neutral line voltage fluctuations is required.
OFKL series MCBs provide dual protection mechanisms: a thermal element for overload protection and an electromagnetic element for instant short-circuit protection, preventing electrical fires and equipment failure.
Select an MCB based on your equipment's operating current, circuit voltage, short-circuit breaking capacity, and ambient operating environment. Always ensure the rated current of the MCB does not exceed the wire carrying capacity.
